we already do. this patch won't change that.

because 85% of Monks are solo invincimonks, and as such, are unwilling to join a group in PvE.

the other day in Ring of Fire I spent almost an hour trying to get a single monk for my group. after an hour, 5 monks who had been there the entire time started having a conversation over Local chat about their a solo builds and why they will never join groups.

all the time when i join a group with my monk/ranger im asked "are you healing?" that should be a given. when i say "yes i am all healing and beast mastery" it's like i've just announced there will be two christmases this year.

This guy has no clue. It was the smiters solo that began to lower prices of items. They get so many items they sell em off cheaper and cheaper. They kept the prices of ecto down! Smiters did not spend the gold, often they are saving up for fissure armor... LIKE ME! and then the build is nerfed. Farming is possible, just not as good as it was, and now takes 10 times longer. Anyone who says yea! Your we ta did! Build your own damn monk and go smite! Don't hate because you never saved that much gold to buy those freaking runes!

W/in 10 minutes of the new patch, merchants were out of ecto and the price went upto the cap of 11k. Ppl were offering it for 50k. ANET your a bunch of idiots. Stop looking for shit that is not broke. You made some skills now almost worthless!

That pretty much sums it up. And my feeling is that is just the tip of the iceberg of what is to come, but heck what do I know. I am beginning to loose some guild folks not because they were monks, but because of what the monks were doing to help them......oh well.

Nah, let the idiots think the invinci monk build is dead.

No one will bother us again, and while most of the mediocre farmers who bashed and bash on the solo monk build will keep getting their crappy drops while we're full of ectos.

Not to mention, now we'll rob the shit out of you, because ectos' prices will reach the stars.

not necessarily, with the mindstate of the playerbase at this moment.

it is very rare that I come across a monk primary that is a dedicated healer, regardless of what their secondary. and when I do, I count my blessings.

I've resorted to taking secondary monks, and asking them if they are willing play to their secondary, as opposed to standing around for an hour spamming local chat looking for a Healer, only to pick up a Monk primary and watching him start smiting without regard to the rest of the group, as soon as we get into the mission/quest zone, when we all expected him to be a healer.

so now, I always ask. that way at least I know in advance that he won't heal, and I can look for an additional healer.

why don't you just learn how to play the game without a healer....it IS possible you know...it just requires that you don't play like a moron. Don't blame the monks because you can't find a good PUG...it's not the monks fault you haven't figured out that every class can heal itself.

it was just a great build... i was working on my uw/solo monk.. so i deleted my trapper to make room for him.. now that they nerfed.. i cant trap any more so thanks alot anet

Actually since level 17 protective bond is no longer the best skill for farming... I have a feeling that we will be seeing some 55hp farmers of different primary classes because the new UW monk farmers don't use level 17 bond. Elementalists come to mind, but I think I maybe be able to pull it off really well with a Mesmer, the class that seems to never get a good farming build.

I farm because I don't want to complete the game for a 5th time...and I know that if I stop playing and pick up a different game I'll just never come back. So I picked up farming for the last couple weeks waiting on the summer update so I atleast get a chance to check that out. Ecto drops increased for me alot about a week before the prot bond nerf, went from getting maybe 1 or 2 ectos every 3 runs to getting 2+ every run, was great, helped to bring the prices down alot as everyone was just selling them to traders...i hope :P otherwise alot of people sitting on alot of ecto...still :P

I didn't tell you to do a damn thing, jack. I definately did not tell anybody how to play Guild Wars.

What I said is that if you wish to not only farm, but farm in Guild Wars, you are in for some disappointment. Take my advice or leave it, but don't put words in my mouth or insult me because you are too stubborn to get a game that can actually satiate your desire to beat up monsters for their stuff.
